Newsletter:  Create a back-to-school Newsletter for your student.  Click on Directions.

Important Reminder: Be sure to registered for TaskStream and ISTE (see syllabus) right away. We will be using bother throughout the course.  You will also need to purchase a USB Flash Drive to store files. Finally, read and complete the first and second article by Tues as discussed in class.

Tonight we are going to explore the productivity tools for teaching and learning. The focus will be on using the power of MS Word and PowerPoint.

Followup Assignment:  Using "Exploring the Internet" Activity, you will be book marking and completing some writing activities.  Refer to the Assignments area for exact details.

Followup Assignment:  After reading the article posted in WebCT, write a brief summary or reflection and then identify two questions that popped into head while reading and write your own answers.

  • Setup folders on storage device and backup on H drive and usb mass storage device (F Drive).  Make a folder called ed_422.  Within this folder set up folders called:
    • web_page
    • powerpoint
      • multimedia
    • video
    • inspiration

Followup Assignment: Using the "Print Screen" function capture your windows explorer (right click on the start button) then paste it into a word file. Crop the screen to show you folders.  Save as a word a file, then turn in File organization Assignment.  Click here for video demonstration

Creating a Lesson Presentation using Powerpoint. 

Followup Assignment:  you are going to create a lesson (see the Assignment Link below) that you will then present on June 14 to three other people. Be creative, stretch yourself and your knowledge and make it fun.
